At first I thought to myself I have been here before, in southern Utah. But even though it rests at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains, this place has a lot in common with Bryce Canyon. It was formed millions of years ago when an arm of the Mediterranean sea covered the area depositing silt and marine material on the sea floor. The "Organ Pipes" were then sculpted by rainwater eroding away the ancient sea bed. Eventually these formations will once again come to rest in the Mediterranean sea.
